Tteokbokki Loaded Fries

Transform a popular Korean street food into your newest shareable appetizer. Load up a crispy plate of fries with Korean rice cakes in a spicy sauce and finish with mozzarella. So good!
Preparation Instructions:
Step 1
In a saucepan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant. Stir in gochujang, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Mix well. Add vegetable stock to thin the sauce slightly. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the rice cakes to the simmering sauce. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice cakes are soft and chewy, and the sauce has thickened.
Step 2
Prepare fries according to package instructions. Season with salt to taste.
Step 3
Arrange the fries on a large serving platter. Pour the sauce with rice cakes over the fries, ensuring even coverage. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the platter and broil or bake for 2-3 minutes until melted.
Step 4
Sprinkle generously with green onions and sesame seeds. Sprinkle with furikake for extra umami, if desired.
