Musubi Spam Rice Wrap

Yield: 4 Servings (1 each)
Yield: 4 Servings (1 each)
The Hawaiians have perfected this classic dish, enjoying it often as a portable lunch or afternoon snack. And we think they'd approve of this unique, flavor-packed version, too.
Preparation Instructions:
Step 1
Thaw avocado spread according to package instructions.
Step 2
Prepare fried rice according to package instructions. Let it cool slightly.
Step 3
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, and mirin.
Step 4
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the Spam® slices for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Pour soy mixture over the Spam® in the skillet and cook for 1-2 more minutes, flipping occasionally, until the sauce thickens and glazes the Spam®.
Step 5
Place a strip of nori on a clean, dry surface (shiny side down). Use a musubi mold for shaping. Place the mold on the nori strip, ensuring the edges of the nori stick out. Add a layer of fried rice (about 2-3 Tbsp.) inside the mold and press gently to flatten. Spread a thin layer (about 1 tsp.) of avocado spread on top of the rice. Add a piece of glazed Spam® on top. Press firmly to shape the musubi. Remove the mold, then wrap the nori tightly around the musubi. Use a bit of water to seal the edges.
