How To Make Your Very Own Customizable Butter

The first thought that comes to your mind when we mention homemade butter may be ‘arm workout’, but worry not, this no-churn butter recipe is so simple and quick to make, with very few ingredients you’d find in your pantry.

Here’s how to make yours:

You will need:

  • 1-pint heavy whipping cream

  • Large bowl of ice water

  • Salt to taste

  • Stand mixer or a hand mixer

Instructions

  1. In your mixer or bowl, beat the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.

  2. Turn up the speed and keep beating until the cream breaks and until liquid, or buttermilk, is seen separated at the bottom of your bowl.

  3. Once the butter is beaten until solidified, pour off the liquid.

  4. Scrape out butter by hand and rinse it with a cold bath. Squeeze any excess buttermilk.

  5. Keep rinsing and squeezing the butter until the excess buttermilk runs clear. 

  6. Finally, add salt if desired. Store in an airtight container and voila!
